The team

Acting Chair of Trustees
Colin Bennett is Vice Chair of Trustees. Colin is married with three grown up children and two grandchildren.  He is a Vice Principal and Director of Training at Moorlands College. Colin became a Christian whilst training as a Youth and Community Worker in Birmingham. Following his training, he worked in Birmingham and Sheffield on a variety of high-profile innercity youth and community work projects. He is a regular writer and speaks on family, youth and community issues.  He has also been a stakeholder with Teen Challenge since 2005

Treasurer
Jan Crawford is married to Blair with 4 children in their twenties.  She works for Bournemouth YMCA as Head of Centre Development and Family Learning at Southbourne and Pokesdown Children’s Centres. She first trained and started teaching RE in Sheffield, moving to Christchurch in 1991 where she taught in primary schools in Dorset and Bournemouth. More recently she trained as an Early Years teacher.

Governance
Rick Read is 63, married with three grown up children and four grandchildren. In his late twenties he gave up his career in the Shipping Industry and moved to a Welsh hillside in search of ‘ The Good Life’!  He spent most of this time running a motor car repair garage and MOT test centre with a business partner. It was during these years that he became a Christian. He now earns his living as a self-employed Painter/Handyman which has enabled him to spend seven years in church leadership, and to volunteer as a Debt Adviser for a local Christian charity.

Project Manager
Liz Carter is married to Brett and has 2 boys, one of whom is grown up. She originally trained as an acupunturist and ran her own business from home for 5 years before becoming a Christian. Liz then worked for 8 years in Christian ministry with Friends International Dorset as an administrator and hospitality coordinator. She joined the Water Lily Project in June 2017.
