Support Worker

 

Location:  Christchurch, Dorset
Job Type:  Part-time
Hours:  6 hours a week – Wednesday only
Salary:  £10 per hour

Would you like to support a project that aims to help vulnerable women by building their confidence and self-worth through 1:1 support and training?

We have an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to achieving just that. If successful you’ll be one of the support workers working for the Water Lily Project (WLP) – a local charity that supports and empowers vulnerable women and aims to lead them back to independent living. Working remotely for now, but normally based in the Water Lily Cafe in Christchurch, you’ll meet with our beneficiaries in regular 121 sessionswhere you will establish their needs, provide a listening ear and put together a Personal Individual Plan that is achievable using SMART goals. 

About you

As one of our support workers you’ll have excellent listening skills, a kind and friendly disposition, patience and a genuine desire to help others. You’ll be able to stay positive and upbeat even when things are difficult and meet women where they are at.   You’ll be non-judgemental and work collaboratively with the beneficiary to help them back to independent living. Often dealing with sensitive issues, you will be considerate and discreet.

What we can offer in return

In return we offer full training and the knowledge that you’ll be making a positive difference to women in need, your salary will be £10 per hour plus contributions to pension scheme, we provide a  mobile phone and 4 weeks paid holiday plus all bank holidays.

Marketing Assistant

Salary:  £10 per hour

Are you an organised, creative person with strong marketing skills who can work autonomously and to deadlines? 

Would you like to support a project that aims to help vulnerable women and aims to lead them back to independent living?  

The successful candidate will be expected to assist the manager with publicity strategies, press releases, designing brochures, promoting new projects, utilise and engage social networks and updating the website. 

This is a home-based position, but the candidate would need to be available on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday during normal working hours in order to work closely with the Charity Manager. 

About you 

As Marketing Assistant you will have the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently and effectively with a strong attention to detail. A high level of computer literacy, including a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A good knowledge of WordPress and Eventbrite. You will have previous experience in marketing and administration and strong spelling and grammar skills.  You will be educated to a minimum of 2 A Levels, preferably with one in English.
