What We Do

The Waterlily Project is a support service that focuses on helping people who are experiencing domestic abuse and violence, mental health issues, or temporary crises such as bereavement, illness, or an acrimonious divorce.

Our main goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for women, where they can feel protected and free to be themselves.

We offer free monthly one-hour support sessions with a trained support worker for up to a year.  Our Support Workers may also have lived experience of the issues faced by our beneficiaries.  We will  also work with our beneficiaries by providing any supportive training that could help them escape their situations or help them understand their mental health and work on ways to move on.

Our aim is to provide a non-judgmental space for women to heal and grow over the course of a year. Ultimately, our objective is to help women become independent and lead fulfilling lives.  We do this by working with each woman as an individual and building with them an Individual Support Plan that is tailored to their particular situation. We will then work with them throughout the year.

In addition to supporting our beneficiaries, Waterlily also contributes to the local community through our Water Lily Community Cafe. This is a great place for the local community to meet, a safe place for our beneficiaries to meet and socialise and, if appropriate, provides volunteering opportunities to help start rebuilding lives.
