A warm welcome to Emma Whitney who joins us as Cafe and Hospitality Manager at our community café in Barrack Road.
Emma brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry to this role. She and her husband Ben managed their own restaurant in Spain for four years as well as running a busy hotel in Boscombe. Emma also worked at a café in Christchurch before joining us here at Water Lily Project.
She lives in Southbourne with Ben who she met as her teenage sweetheart when she was just 19. Emma is a self-confessed ‘foodie’ and loves to cook and bake. She also loves to go out for meals and sample food she just wouldn’t cook at home. Her favourite magazine is Good Food and she admires celebrity chef Rick Stein for his inventive fish dishes and Jamie Oliver for his simple recipe ideas. When she’s not cooking, baking or eating out, Emma keeps the calories off by keeping fit.
Emma heard about Water Lily Project after it supported two friends who were victims of domestic abuse. We’re delighted to have her on the team and very excited about all the great ideas she will be serving up in our wonderful community cafe.
