The outgoing Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Viv Charrett, presented Water Lily with a cheque for £6401.20 yesterday following a year of fundraising for her two charities of the year, Water Lily and SSAFA.
The year has seen the Mayor put on a charity concert at Christchurch Priory and a Gala Charity Dinner at the Captains club, which included an auction. We are so grateful for all her hard work this past year. It has not just raised funds which will have a profound impact on the women we support but also raised our profile in the local area.
The funds raised will enable us to provide 1:1 Support to 27 women for an entire year. This will have a massive impact on their lives and we are so grateful for this support. In a world where costs are rising, fundraising is becomming harder and the demand for our service is growing; support like this is invaluable.
All we can say is a massive thank you to Viv, her team and all the people of Christchurch who gave to the Mayor’s Charity appeals and events last year.
